Join us Friday, December 3oth at The Alternative Cafe, 1230 Fremont Blvd in Seaside, CA! The show starts at 7:30 but  if you come at 7pm you’ll get the best seats in the house. And it’s only $10!

We thought it would be fun to feature a couple of our cast members each month. Doesn’t that sound fun? We’ll start with Numero Uno (yes, that is what he makes us call him), the Director himself, Gerry Orton!

Gerry Orton, Founder & Director, Monterey iMPRoV

Following a career in youth social services during the 70’s and 80’s in Lake Tahoe, Gerry pursued an interest in improv theater.   Why improv?  “It was the next obvious choice.”  In 1997 he co-founded ComedySportz Lake Tahoe.  It evolved into the Tahoe Improv Players and continues making stuff up.   In 2004 Gerry moved to Monterey where he founded and directs, Women Of Whimsy, and The Mirth’O’Matics which includes the other gender.  Why Monterey?  “It was the next obvious choice.”  Gerry’s addiction to improv keeps him teaching, directing and  performing. He refuses all efforts at recovery.  He also admits an addiction to dark chocolate.
